Consultation:

After completing your admitting paperwork, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. An examination and evaluation will help identify the cause of your problem.

Exam:

Dr. Eastwood will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, flexibility, range of motion, blood pressure, orthopedic exams and digital XRAYs if needed.  XRAYs assist the doctor in assessing your condition to determine the condition of the discs, nerves, vertebral degeneration, etc.

Report of Findings:

This portion of the visit will inform you of the condition of your spine.  You will be allowed to see the XRAYs and Dr. Eastwood will explain her course of treatment based on your symptoms and what is seen on the XRAYs.  She will design a course of treatment individually tailored to your needs.  i.e. the types of adjustments and manual therapy that are best for your body type, how many visits per week, and how long it will take to heal your condition.

Adjustment:

Based on Dr. Eastwood’s recommendations and explanations, you can choose to be receive a chiropractic adjustment where the affected segments will be gently mobilized to provide relief from your neck pain, numbness and tingling, headaches, low back stiffness, menstrual cramps, sports injuries, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, etc.

Ergonomic and Activities of Daily Living Counseling:

During your treatments, Dr. Eastwood will determine if it is your desk setting, mattress, high heels, handbags, type of repetitive motions you perform at work, positioning of your head, shoulders, elbows, knees and feet, etc.  It is important to address what is happening to you while in static positions as you are slowly deforming your spine with improper posture.

Exercises:

Dr. Eastwood will demonstrate exercises and prescribe a tailored plan based on your symptoms and your abilities over the course of your treatments.  It is important to follow the prescribed treatment plan while incorporating the recommended exercises to gain back your full potential.

Treatment Plan:

Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. After the investment of time needed on the first visit, many patients become concerned that every visit will be of equal length.

Good News!! A typical visit may require just a few, highly-focused, minutes.  But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly size up what your spine and nervous system need, adjust you and get you on your way.   We promise to respect your time.  We recognize your time is valuable. We do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.

Important:  Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and we can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes.   If all the chiropractor does is reduce the pain and stop there, the chances of the condition occurring are much greater.  In order to prevent a rapid occurance of symptoms, it is necessary to receiving care although your symptoms seem gone.  Do not be discouraged if you have minor flareups in your symptoms on occasion.  This is normal.  These are bound to occur because your body is not fully healed.  Depending on the severity of the injury or condition and how long you have been suffering, will determine your individual results.

More Good News!!  It will take a fraction of the time that you have been suffering to get you back into a pain-free, healthy you!   Don’t give up too early, as the best is yet to come!
